In January 2026, the TV anime and film adaptations of Detective Conan (also known in English as Case Closed ) will celebrate their 30th anniversary with a newly announced “30 YEAR PROJECT”, and to kick off the festivities the series has published an official logo and a commemorative video. Additional plans for the anniversary celebrations will be revealed at a later date via a special website . VIZ Media publishes an English language version of the series under the title Case Closed . The TV anime adaptation began in January 1996, while the first theatrical anime film was released in April 1997. Crunchyroll describes Detective Conan : The son of a world famous mystery writer, Shinichi Kudo, has achieved his own notoriety by assisting the local police as a student detective.
