Mobile Suit Gundam GQuuuuuuX -Beginning- Gets North America Theatrical Release Date

Film distributor GKIDS announced today that the company has acquired the North American theatrical distribution rights to Mobile Suit Gundam GQuuuuuuX -Beginning- , the theatrical re-edited episode version of the upcoming Mobile Suit Gundam GQuuuuuuX TV series. Mobile Suit Gundam GQuuuuuuX -Beginning- will release in North American theaters starting February 28, 2025. It was first released in Japan on January 17, 2025, following the initial announcement of the series . Kazuya Tsurumaki, who directed the Rebuild of Evangelion film series including the final installment Evangelion: 3.0+1.0 Thrice Upon a Time , serves as director, alongside series composition writer Yoji Enokido, character designer Take ( Pokémon ) and mechanical designer Ikuto Yamashita. GKIDS describes Mobile Suit Gundam GQuuuuuuX -Beginning- : Amate Yuzuriha is a high-school student living peacefully in a space colony floating in outer space. When she meets a war refugee named Nyaan, Amate is drawn into the illegal mobile suit dueling sport known as Clan Battle. Under the entry name "Machu," she throws herself into fierce battle day after day, piloting the GQuuuuuuX. Then an unidentified Gundam mobile suit pursued by both the space force and the police appears before her, along with its pilot, a boy named Shuji. Now their world is about to enter a new era.
