Murai in Love Anime Shares Movie Poster Parody Arts
November 3 was “Culture Day,” a national holiday in Japan. To mark the day, the official X (formerly Twitter) for the Murai in Love manga and TV anime posted two parody arts newly drawn by the original manga's author, Junta Shima. The titles are not directly mentioned, but it is assumed that both were inspired by famous movie's poster visuals. The first one , described as “a musical entertainment about two dreamers who fall in love,” is supposedly based on La La Land . Disney+ has been exclusively streaming the anime since September 4. Yoshinobu Yamakawa ( Hi Score Girl , The Duke of Death and His Maid ) directs the adaptation at studio J.C.STAFF , with series composition by Susumu Yamakawa ( The Way of the Househusband ), music by Ruka Kawada ( The Ice Guy and His Cool Female Colleague ) and sound direction by Jin Aketagawa . The story tells a romantic comedy between Tanaka, a high school teacher who loves otome games, and Murai, a high school boy who is in love with Tanaka. Tanaka, who has never been involved in a real-life romance, is confessed to by Murai but rejects his confession. On the next day, Murai transforms himself into the exact likeness of Tanaka's favorite character from her favorite otome game.
