Japanese publisher KADOKAWA announced on May 2 that Ichiei Ishibumi's High School DxD light novel series has printed a total of 7.8 million copies (including digital edition) worldwide as of April 2024. The series has released from the publisher's Fantasia Bunko imprint since September 2008. After the original series ended with its 25th volume in March 2018, a sequel, Shin High School DxD , followed in July of the same year, releasing four volumes so far. Currently, the novel has been translated into English, Korean, Chinese, Thai, and many other languages, and has become popular all over the world. "Finally, the series has printed a total of 7.8 million copies. Thank you for your tremendous support. This figure is a worldwide total, and I believe it is thanks to the response to the English version, which has been on sale for several years," said the novel's original author, Ishibumi. "Although the series is still going, it is a great honor for the series to be able to have such a strong support not only in Japan but also in other countries." The novel's illustrator, Miyama-Zero, has also shared a celebratory illustration below. The novel's TV anime adaptation aired for four seasons listed below.
