Gundam Singer Hiroko Moriguchi Releases Second Anisong Cover Album in August

Hiroko Moriguchi , best known for her theme song works for the Mobile Suit Gundam anime franchise, announced that her second anisong cover album, "ANISON COVERS 2," is set to release in Japan on August 7, 2024. Her debut single "Mizu no Hoshi he Ai wo Komete" ( Mobile Suit Zeta Gundam TV anime's second opening theme) released 39 years ago on the same day, August 7, 1985. Based on the concept of “Gundam song cover albums for adults,” Moriguchi released three “GUNDAM SONG COVERS” albums from 2019 to 2022. All of the albums in the series ranked in the top three of the Oricon weekly album charts, and the total number of albums shipped has surpassed 250,000 copies. Following the series, she released the first "ANISON COVERS" album in May 2023 under the concept of "anime song cover album for adults." The album peaked at #11 in the Oricon weekly album charts.
