Originally adapted across five episodes in 2013, the Gintama anime's next odd job is re-editing the Courtesan of a Nation arc for a fresh theatrical release with extra footage, in the same vein as Gintama on Theater 2D Baragaki-hen from last year . The reveal was made at the "Gintama SOUND ULTRA SOUL! '24" live performance event, which also announced a June 2024 premiere in Japan for the film.
