 Angel's Egg Anime Releases Special Clip Featuring Soundtrack Music by Yoshihiro Kanno
Japanese record company Tokuma Japan's official YouTube channel has started streaming a special clip featuring the soundtrack music of the classic 1985 OVA Angel's Egg , composed by Yoshihiro Kanno. The clip was posted to promote the release of the OVA's original soundtrack vinyl LP record and UHQCD today on May 7. Under the supervision of the original composer, Kanno, the soundtrack was remastered using the latest technology. All tunes are now also available on digital platforms for streaming and download. The 71-minute OVA released from Tokuma Shoten in Japan on December 15, 1985. As previously reported , the anime's 4K remastered edition has been in the works to commemorate its 40th anniversary in 2025. Additionally, GKIDS will screen the OVA's 4K remaster edition in North American theaters in the same year. GKIDS describes the synopsis: In an underwater city, a young girl takes care of a large egg she holds carefully in her arms – a treasure that she believes is an angel's egg. A boy with a gun arrives in search of a bird he saw in his dream. At first it seems as if feelings of sympathy are developing between the two. Then, one night, the boy crushes her precious egg.
