My Special One Live-Action Movie Reveals Main Trailer Featuring LiKE LEGEND Theme Song

The official website for the upcoming live-action movie adaptation of Momoko Koda's ( No Longer Heroine ) romantic comedy manga series My Special One (known as Kimi ga Tokubetsu in Japan) released a main trailer today . The clip features the film's theme song "YOU ARE SPECiAL" performed by national idol group LiKE LEGEND, who also appears in the story. Ayato Matsuda serves as director on a screenplay by Satoko Okazaki . Kazuya Ohashi , a member of the real Japanese idol group Naniwa Danshi, is cast as the nation's top idol, Kouta Kirigaya. Actor Mei Hata plays Sahoko Wakaume, the main heroine who falls in love with him. Additionally, Keito Kimura (FANTASTICS), J utaro Yamanaka (M!LK), Haru Okubo (DXTEEN), and NAOYA (MAZZEL) play members of LiKE LEGEND, which is led by Kirigaya. Nako Yabuki is cast as Emika Nanase, a popular young actor; Taiki Sato (EXILE and FANTASTICS) is cast as SHO, a member of the rival group Lost in Rock. Kenichi Endo also appears as himself, as well as Yumena Hoshino . Koda's original My Special One manga ran in Shueisha's Bessatsu Margaret monthly shojo manga magazine from March 2019 to January 2025, releasing 10 tankobon volumes in Japan to date. VIZ Media releases the manga's English edition and describes the story: After a mortifying rejection, Sahoko Wakaume has sworn off beautiful boys.
