Magic: The Gathering Final Fantasy Cards Showcase Art from Entire Series
June 13, 2025 marks the launch of the next big Magic: The Gathering collaboration, this time with Square Enix's Final Fantasy series. Every mainline game in the series is represented in the set, which boasts "the largest collection of FINAL FANTASY artwork ever in a single game."  The iconic characters and monsters on each card are depicted through the work of Magic artists and classic art pieces from the Final Fantasy series. The set features over 100 legendary creature cards, 55 of which have borderless character cards available. Magic: The Gathering Final Fantasy Play Boosters Magic: The Gathering Final Fantasy Play Boosters Collector Boosters The set is up for pre-order now in the form of Play Boosters, Collector Boosters, Commander decks, Collector's Edition Commander decks, Bundles and Gift Bundles. All the Commander decks cover individual games, including Final Fantasy VI , Final Fantasy VII , Final Fantasy X and Final Fantasy XIV .  RELATED: Hatsune Miku is On the Cards for Magic: The Gathering Secret Lair Set The Final Fantasy collab also marks the debut of Saga creatures, which is how you can use Summons in play. Once you call a Summon—like Shiva, pictured below—they enter with a single lore counter and grant an immediate effect. They only stick around for a few turns, though, so you'll want to put them to good use right away.  Double-faced cards are also back, letting players cast the front face of a card and, upon fulfilling its conditions, flip it over to reveal its alternate form. You can see a sample in the Garland, Knight of Cornelia card below, which has Chaos, the Endless on the reverse side. More mechanics will be revealed this May.
