Dragon Ball DAIMA Episode 16 Recap, “Degesu”

Seriously, major spoilers ahead! Well, That Was Easy... In the ruins caused by the battle between Gomah’s troops and Goku’s crew, Vegeta wonders what they should do next. They decide to rescue Dende first before they go and challenge the final Tamagami (unaware that he’s already been defeated by Majin Duu and Majin Kuu ). Degesu pulls baby Dende from his crib and becomes instantly frustrated by his crying. RELATED: Dragon Ball Quiz: Are You a Dragon Ball Expert? As they reach Gomah’s front gate, Goku and his pals are confronted by the Gendarmerie Force , and the bad guys immediately launch into their elaborate posing routine. They then begin to attack Vegeta, who dodges their weapon blasts and strikes with ease. Then, one by one, Vegeta knocks the Force down. Once the Captain is knocked around a bit, he proposes that they use “that attack.” The Captain then creates a huge fireball and rockets it toward Vegeta, enveloping the Saiyan in flame. However, it’s also of little use, and pretty soon, the Gendarmerie Force is all tied up in front of the castle. So much for that! Castle Crashers Vegeta blasts the gate open with an energy ball and the heroes step inside (but not before the Gendarmerie Force offers Goku a bag of the “best” potato chips). Inside, they find a huge statue of Gomah that flummoxes them. Also inside is the Majin that traded her hat for Hybis’ belt (and the Third Eye on it). She seems a little lost and tries asking some frantic Gendarmerie troops where Degesu is, but they’re too busy to answer her. She gets creeped out by the eye on the belt and rushes to find Degesu. RELATED: Dragon Ball Watch Order & Sagas List So as not to stand out, Goku’s group splits up to try and find Dende. Goku, Vegeta, Piccolo and Shin investigate a large door, but Panzy senses that something is wrong and follows them. Glorio, in turn, follows her. While traveling over a large bridge, Goku senses Dende’s ki nearby. The group runs forward and Panzy, wheezing and out of breath, can barely keep up. They eventually make it to the castle hangar where Degesu has taken Dende. Goku orders him to let Dende go, but Degesu holds a laser pistol to Dende’s head. Hat Trick Degesu and Shin see one another for the first time in over a thousand years, but Degesu tells them to not come any closer. Degesu reveals that he wants to rule the Demon Realm, but Shin rebukes him for his lack of planning and overly ambitious ways. Gomah, watching from his throne room, wonders what Degesu’s plan is. Then he freaks out when he considers that Degesu might be trying to betray him. RELATED: A Guide to All Dragon Ball Saiyan Transformations, In Order Panzy leaps out at Degesu for a surprise attack, but Degesu stops her by now holding the gun to her head. Suddenly, a big bouncing object flies in and strikes Degesu, forcing him to drop his gun and Dende. It’s Hybis’ funny hat! Panzy grabs Dende and Piccolo knocks out Degesu with a strike to the throat. It turns out that the one who threw the hat was Glorio, and Dende is happy to see that he’s been saved by his friends. Gomah Gets His Power-Up The girl Majin finds a worried Gomah and gives him the belt with the Third Eye. For payment, Gomah tells her to just go ahead and take whatever she wants from the other room. Meanwhile, Goku’s group decides to tackle the First Demon World Tamagami before going off to face Gomah… only to discover that it doesn’t have a Dragon Ball! Arinsu then shows up and reveals that Majin Kuu and Majin Duu have already taken it into their possession. RELATED: What is Ki in Dragon Ball and How Exactly Does it Work? After having some immense trouble, Gomah is finally able to pry the Third Eye out of the belt with a plunger. He then bribes the Majin girl to put the eye into his forehead.
