Sonic the Hedgehog 4 Premiere Locked in for March 19, 2027

Before Sonic the Hedgehog 3 even lit up theaters, a fourth entry in the series was officially confirmed. Now a date has been locked in, so look for Sonic the Hedgehog 4 to premiere on March 19, 2027. The third film, which introduced Keanu Reeves as Shadow, opened in theaters on December 20, 2024, and is now available to rent or own digitally via video-on-demand services. The Blu-ray, DVD and 4K Ultra HD physical releases will follow on April 15. RELATED: Sonic the Hedgehog 3 Movie Sets Up Shadow Showdown in 2nd Trailer Sonic the Hedgehog 3 pulled in big numbers in theaters , surpassing the previous entries with $218 million domestically and $422 million globally.  The third entry was once again directed by Jeff Fowler, with Pat Casey and Josh Miller writing and a cast that includes Ben Schwartz (Sonic), James Marsden (Tom Wachowski), Jim Carrey (Dr. Robotnik), Tika Sumpter (Maddie Wachowski), Colleen O'Shaughnessey (Tails), Idris Elba (Knuckles) and Keanu Reeves (Shadow).
