Ranma 1/2 Anime Announces Season 2
Good news for fans who can't get enough of gender-bending martial arts hijinx: Ranma 1/2 , the latest anime adaptation based on the classic romantic comedy manga by Rumiko Takahashi, has confirmed via its official social media feed that a second season is in the works. The announcement was accompanied with a special promo video and a new illustration by series character designer Hiromi Taniguchi (above). At the time of this reporting, no further information on the new season has yet been revealed. RELATED: Ranma 1/2 Anime Nekohanten Collab Café Launches in December Shogakukan serialized the original Ranma 1/2 manga from August 1987 – March 1996 in their Weekly Shonen Sunday magazine. Viz Media also publishes an English language version of the series . Konosuke Ueda directs the TV anime at animation studio MAPPA. Kimiko Ueno provides the series composition, Hiromi Taniguchi provides the character designs and Karou Wada provides the music. Netflix streams the TV anime in worldwide markets, and describes it like so: Akane Tendo meets her new fiancé, Ranma Saotome, a martial arts prodigy with a twist: he magically transforms into a girl upon touching cold water.
