One Piece Rides the Grand Rail With Three Collaboration Shinkansen Trains
One Piece may be known for its boats, but next year in Japan, Eiichiro Oda’s epic will also be synonymous with Shinkansen travel in the Sanyo region. The series will be getting three trains on the Shin-Osaka to Hakata line. JR West announced on Friday that three Shinkansen will be decked out in One Piece drip, with the first train to set sail on the route in Spring 2025, lining up with the Osaka Expo that starts in April 2025.  The first train, known as “Setouchi Blue,” is based on the Setouchi Sea, which Sanyo Shinkansen’s route runs parallel to, and is wrapped in a bright blue decal that features the Straw Hat crew. Designs for the train were released alongside a key visual of the collaboration and a logo that shows a blue Bullet Train bursting out of the  One Piece  logo. And no, these One Piece shinkansen can’t cross the Setouchi Sea! The Setouchi Blue will be the first train to set sail on the “Grand Rail,” a play on the Grand Line from the One Piece series, with the other two to debut at some point after the first set off. Each of the trains will feature unique designs that are newly drawn illustrations. The interiors of each train will also be unique and feature  One Piece  in some way. JR West will also release special goods in the stations along the Sanyo Shinkansen line and develop various projects that will link the Shinkansen trip to the world of One Piece.
