The upcoming continuation of the decades-old Mashin Hero Wataru anime franchise, titled Mashin Sozoden Wataru and centered on a young adventurous "RyuTuber" aiming for stardom, announced today that the new series will begin airing on Japanese television starting January 12, 2025 at 17:30 JST . The music group lol will also perform the opening theme song "POP UP!" The Mashin Sozoden Wataru anime's cast includes: Ryunryun voiced by Rie Kugimiya Maro voiced by Megu Umezawa Kakeru Amabe voiced by Atsumi Tanezaki Wataru Hoshibe voiced by Mutsumi Tamura Ofurain voiced by Katsuyuki Konishi Mashin Ryujinmaru voiced by Tomokazu Sugita RELATED: Mashin Sozoden Wataru Anime Premieres in January 2025 Yumi Kamakura ( Inazuma Eleven Ares ) directs Mashin Sozoden Wataru at studio Bandai Namco Pictures, with series composition by Yoichi Kato ( Duel Masters!! ), character designs by Mayuko Nakano ( The Vampire Dies in No Time ) and Yoshinori Yumoto ( Daily Lives of High School Boys ) and music by Ryuichi Takada, Keiichi Hirokawa, Oliver Good and Keita Inoue. The original Mashin Eiyuden Wataru anime series was produced by Sunrise and aired in Japan from April 1988 to March 1989, followed by two sequel series in 1990 and 1997, respectively, and three anime OVAs released between them. A nine-episode web series titled Mashin Eiyuden Wataru: Shichi Kon no Ryujinmaru began streaming on YouTube in 2020.
