The Rising of the Shield Hero Inspires Pixelated Puzzles in Picross Crossover
The Rising of the Shield Hero is about to make its puzzle debut with the reveal of a Picross collaboration. Picross: Records of the Shield Hero features game modes adapted from the Picross S series, with characters from the anime available as pixel art puzzles. There are 166 Picross puzzles, 166 Mega Picross puzzles, 47 Color Picross puzzles and 175 Clip Picross puzzles, the latter of which let you solve multiple pieces to complete famous scenes. Beyond that, there are eight extra puzzles and an Episode mode that has you playing puzzles episodically to follow the story of The Rising of the Shield Hero . Based on the light novels by Aneko Yusagi and Seira Minami, the most recent season of The Rising of the Shield Hero was directed by Hitoshi Haga ( Made in Abyss assistant director) at studio Kinema Citrus, with series composition by Keigo Koyanagi and music by Kevin Penkin ( Tower of God ). Crunchyroll streams the first three seasons, and describes the overall series: Iwatani Naofumi, a run-of-the-mill otaku, finds a book in the library that summons him to another world. He is tasked with joining the sword, spear, and bow as one of the Four Cardinal Heroes and fighting the Waves of Catastrophe as the Shield Hero. Excited by the prospect of a grand adventure, Naofumi sets off with his party. However, merely a few days later, he is betrayed and loses all his money, dignity, and respect. Unable to trust anyone anymore, he employs a slave named Raphtalia and takes on the Waves and the world. But will he really find a way to overturn this desperate situation?
