Oi! Tonbo Anime Season 2 Announces Two New Cast Members
Golf-themed anime Oi! Tonbo returns for a second season this fall, bringing with it a new setting and new characters! Today, we meet two new characters who will debut when the action moves to Kumamoto Prefecture. Yui Ishikawa (Mikasa Ackerman in Attack on Titan ) will play Hinoki Otoha, Tonbo's new rival. Ishikawa describes Hinoki as "earnest and kind," but constantly under pressure due to her father's expectations. Marina Inoue (who also starred in Attack on Titan as Armin Arlelt) plays Ema Kurisu. A former champion golfer, she suffered a serious injury and disappeared from the public eye. Ten years after her win, she is competing once again and now plays left-handed. Tonbo aired for 13 episodes from April 6 to June 29, 2024. Oh Jin koo directs the series for OLM. Mitsuki Hirota handles series composition, Kei Takeuchi is in charge of character design, and Nobuko Toda serves as composer. The new season premieres in Japan on October 5. The synopsis reads: Igarashi, who left the past behind and running away from the world, moved to the Tokara Islands in Kagoshima Prefecture. On Hinoshima Island, which is said to be "the last unexplored region in Japan," Igarashi meets Tonbo, the only junior high school student on the island. The innocent girl has an incredible talent for golf! This encounter will change the destiny of the two...
