Bye Bye, Earth Anime Adds Toshiyuki Toyonaga as Bennett
The official X (formerly Twitter) for the TV anime Bye Bye, Earth announced today that Toshiyuki Toyonaga (Junichiro Tanizaki in Bungo Stray Dogs , Popp in DRAGON QUEST The Adventure of Dai ) will join as the voice of the voice of Bennett. Bennett is the male form of Benedictine, who made his first appearance in the anime's latest sixth episode "Concerto in a Land Where Death Blooms" which aired in Japan on August 16. Ami Koshimizu (Sailor Jupiter in Sailor Moon Crystal ) has voiced the character's female form, Benedictine. As characteristic of the mermaid race, the character has two forms, male and female, and had previously appeared as Benedictine, the female form, but after being wounded in the left eye during the battle of Catacombs, she changed to Bennett, the male form. "From Benedictine, played by (Ami) Koshimizu-san, to Bennett... It is a very difficult and rewarding role to stand in," said Toyonaga. "How will she...and he...influence Belle in the future? Please look forward to it!" Having no fangs, fur, or scales, she was called "Faceless," and she lived a lonely life with no one else she could identify with. "I want to be part of the world..." With such longing in her heart, she decides to set out on a journey to find her roots, carrying the Runding, a great sword as tall as she is. She doesn’t know how many adversities await her along the way... This masterpiece by the remarkable Tow Ubukata is considered to be his origin, and many have deemed it impossible to animate.
