Naoko Yamada's The Colors Within Anime Film Wins Best Animation Award at Shanghai International Film Festival
The official Twitter for The Colors Within (known as Kimi no Iro in Japan), an upcoming original theatrical anime film directed by Naoko Yamada ( Liz and the Blue Bird ), has announced that the movie won the Best Animation Film Award at the 26th Shanghai International Film Festival in China on June 22. Honor student Kimi has dropped out of school but still pretends to attend for her grandmother's sake. They reunite and decide to form a band with Rui, who dreams of composing on analog synthesizers but whose mother expects him to become a doctor. Together, they find freedom, joy, and love. The film's official Twitter has posted photos of director Naoko Yamada receiving the trophy at the awards ceremony, and said that a report on the film festival will be also posted later.
