A start date is in place for the Grendizer U anime, which will bring its hot-blooded super robot action to TV in Japan on July 5. There's also a new trailer, key visual and some updated mecha visuals, so check it all out below while we wait for the fun to begin next month. First up, the third full trailer previews BAND-MAID ending song "Protect You": Grendizer U Trailer 3 The new key visual has Grendizer front and center along with Mazinger Z and their respective pilots, Duke Fleed and Koji Kabuto and, among other characters. Here are some fresh mecha visuals, starting with Double Spazer: Drill Spazer: Marine Spazer: Vega Beast King Banibani: Teron Burn: There are also plans in place for a manga adaptation, which will be serialized on web manga site Comiplex. Further information on that will be announced at a later date. Tatsuo Higuchi ( FUUTO PI ) handles scripts for the series. Mechanical design credits go to a team made up of Ko Inaba ( Mobile Suit Gundam: The Witch from Mercury ), AF_KURO (designer of the Shoujo Motored CYBORG RUNNER action figure series), and Junichi Akatsu ( Mobile Suit Gundam Seed ). Grendizer U  is a remake of Go Nagai's classic 1975 manga and anime  UFO Robo Grendizer , released elsewhere in the world as  Grandizer  and  Goldorak  and appearing as part of Force Five and the Shogun Warriors toy series. The story follows Duke, the crown prince of the dying planet of Fleed, as he escapes to Earth and meets both new friends and previous giant robot heroes. When the evil Vega brings the battle to Earth, Duke must pilot the stolen Grendizer to protect his new homeworld and friends. Source: Comic Natalie
