New Tokyo Xanadu Project in Development
Falcom has announced Tokyo Xanadu New Project , a new game to celebrate the 10th anniversary of the original Tokyo Xanadu action-RPG. Neither a release window nor game platform was specified, but Falcom did reveal some details. The tentatively titled Tokyo Xanadu New Project will share the same world as its predecessor but will take place in Kyoto instead. Falcom also said that the game will have brand new mechanics and systems built from the ground up. It's rather cryptic but does show who is presumably the protagonist, a young boy with dual wielding swords. At the end of the teaser, words appear on the screen saying, "You remember what REM said, don't you?" This is a reference to Rem, an important character from Tokyo Xanadu . Tokyo Xanadu was released in Japan in 2015 and 2017 worldwide for PC, PS4 and Vita. A Switch version launched in June 2023 for Japan and is coming worldwide in June 2024. Source: Press Release
