 Boukyaku Battery TV Anime Steps Up to the Plate on April 9
Boukyaku Battery , an upcoming TV anime based on the baseball manga of the same name, has released a pair of new trailers (below) featuring the opening and ending themes for the series. The first trailer features the opening theme for the series, entitled “Lilac”, which is performed by Mrs. GREEN APPLE, while the second trailer features the song “Wasurena Uta” (“Forgotten Song”), which is performed by Macaroni Empitsu. Boukyaku Battery begins broadcasting in Japan on TV Tokyo and other networks on April 9, 2024. The original Boukyaku Battery manga by Eko Mikawa is serialized in Shueisha's Shonen Jump+ digital manga magazine. Masato Nakasono directs the TV anime adaptation at animation studio MAPPA. Tsuyoshi Iida acts as assistant director, while Hitomi Hasegawa provides the character designs and Tomoki Kikuya and Hiroko Yamasaki provide the music. Although they were scouted by elite sports schools all over Japan, the two instead enroll in an ordinary high school in Tokyo, because Kei is suffering from amnesia and his athletic skills have reverted to the level of a rank amateur.
