Image via Osamu Tezuka Official Shinsengumi , Osamu Tezuka's 1963 historical fiction manga, will be adapted into a live-action TV drama broadcast on TV Asahi's “Super Barabara Daisakusen” programming block under the title Kimi to Yukite Saku ~ Shinsengumi Seishun Roku~ (“Blooming Together With You ~ Shinsengumi Youth Chronicle~”), following an official announcement from TV Asahi today . The show is scheduled to begin in April 2024. Hayato Kawai will direct the series, while Fumi Tsubota will provide the screenplays. An audition contest will determine the cast for the series, and the release date has not yet been revealed. Starting out on his quest for justice, he answers a recruitment call for the Shinsengumi (or “new squad”), the newly-formed special police brigade loyaly to the Bakufu government and its head, the Shogun.
