One of the earliest works of Eiichiro Oda, the author of One Piece , will finally see its anime adaptation released soon as the official One Piece channels and Netflix announced today that Monsters 103 Mercies Dragon Damnation , known in Japan as MONSTERS , will stream worldwide on January 21. In Japan, it will be available on Netflix and Amazon Prime Video. The anime previously announced a January release in December, with the project formally announced last July . MONSTERS is a one-shot short story that Oda drew before One Piece and was published in the Weekly Shonen Jump magazine's extra issue 1994 Autumn Special in 1994 when he was 19. The story depicts the past of the legendary samurai Ryuma, who also appeared in the Thriller Bark arc of One Piece .
