Trapezium Novel From Kazumi Takayama Gets Anime Film Release in May 2024

The first details were released today regarding an anime film adaptation of trapezium , based on the novel from Kazumi Takayama who is also a former first-generation member of the Nogizaka46 idol group. The movie is set to release on May 10 in Japan. Asaki Yuikawa is the first confirmed cast member for the movie as the lead role of high school student Yu Higashi, a teenager who has sworn off social media, hobbies, pledges to keep her head down and not seek a boyfriend in her quest to become a professional idol. Japanese musical group MAISONdes will also provide the film's theme, insert song and incidental music. The novel, a work of fiction that heavily leans on Takayama's and other idols experiences, is a coming-of-age story about high school student Yu Hiagshi, in the 10-year quest to become a professional idol. Takayama was also heavily involved in the development and production of the feature film to ensure her ideal adaptation of the novel. The original story was serialized from 2016 to 2018 in Kadokawa's Da Vinci magazine before being released as a novel in 2018.
