The official website for Tokyo Anime Award Festival 2024 (TAAF2024) announced the winners of this year's Achievement Award on December 14. The award was established in 2005 to celebrate people who have contributed significantly to the development of the animation culture and industry. The 2024 Achievement Award winners: Shunzo Kato (Anime producer at TMS Entertainment / Soreike! Anpanman , Ashita no Joe 2 , Space Cobra ) Akira Toriyama (Manga artist / Dr. Slump , Dragon Ball ) Sukehiro Tomita (Screenplay writer / Space Runaway Ideon , Super Dimension Fortress Macross ) Ryosuke Takahashi (Anime director / Fang of the Sun Dougram , Armored Trooper VOTOMS , The Phoenix ) Shuichi Seki (Animator / Vicky the Viking , The Story of Perrine , The Adventures of Tom Sawyer ) Yuji Ohno (Composer / Lupin the Third ) Toshio Furukawa (Voice actor / Ataru Moroboshi in Urusei Yatsura , Asuma Shinohara in Mobile Police Patlabor ) Tsutomu Yamamoto, Duplo Systems Corporation (Development of mechanical trace machine) TAAF has been held since 2014 to promote animation culture and industry, and to discover and develop new talent. It includes the "Competition Category" for world animation not yet released in Japan, and the "Anime of the Year Category" for animation released in Japan.
