More ODDTAXI is on the way, this time in a different form entirely. Manga author Takeichi Abaraya and series creator Kadzuya Konomoto's RoOT/Route of OddTaxi manga is inspiring a live-action drama adaptation, which is scheduled to broadcast on TV Tokyo starting in April 2024. The RoOT TV series will be an original story based on the struggles of the young detective duo from the RoOT/Route of OddTaxi manga, which is currently serialized on the Darupana web manga site from Big Comic Superior . The series will weave a "human" mystery that follows Sato, an optimistic rookie with bad luck who works under Reina. RoOT is being directed by Takafumi Tsuchiya, who directed 2019's Flowers and Rain and has helmed music videos for the likes of Vaundy and Perfume. Yumi Kawai ( Sayonara, Girls ) and Ryota Bando ( One Last Bloom ) play the lead roles of Reina and Sato, respectively.  RELATED: ODDTAXI Manga Licensed by Denpa Crunchyroll streams both the ODDTAXI TV anime and the ODDTAXI in the Woods anime film, describing the former like so: This town should look familiar, but suddenly, it's not. The taxi driver Odokawa lives a very mundane life. He has no family, doesn't really hang out with others, and he's an oddball who is narrow-minded and doesn't talk much. The only people he can call his friends are his doctor, Gouriki and his classmate from high school, Kakibana. All of his patrons seem to be slightly odd themselves. The college student who wants to be noticed online, Kabasawa. A nurse with secrets, Shirakawa. A comedy duo, the Homosapiens...
