Gurren Lagann Anime Films to Get First U.S. Theatrical Screenings in January 2024

Tonight at Anime NYC, both fans and creators gathered to celebrate two big occasions: the 10th anniversary of Kill la Kill , and 15 years since the Gurren Lagann films. After a panel, Q&A, and messages from fans, attendees were surprised by a special video message from Katsuyuki Konishi , the voice of Kamina. After expressing gratitude to the fans and answering some questions, the caped voice actor dropped some huge news: the Gurren Lagann films are coming to U.S. theaters in 4K and 4D next year! A new trailer dropped along with the live announcement: RELATED: Attack on Titan Anime 10th Anniversary Takes Root in New Event Visual Childhood's End and The Lights in the Sky Are Stars will have subbed and dubbed screenings on January 16 & 17 and January 23 & 24 , respectively. This will mark the first time the films have received an English-language dub. Select locations will host 4D screenings with immersive effects to plunge viewers into the films' epic battles. Tickets go on sale through Fathom Events starting December 8. The original Gurren Lagann anime is now streaming on Crunchyroll , which describes it thus: This is the story of a man who has yet to realize what destiny holds in store for him…In the distant future, mankind has lived quietly and restlessly underground for hundreds of years, subject to earthquakes and cave-ins.
