Detective Conan 27th Feature Film Announces Title, Release Date, Teaser Visual
The official website for the Detective Conan/Case Closed anime film series announced today that its next 27th film, titled Detective Conan: The Million Dollar Signpost , is set to release in Japan on April 12, 2024. In the Japanese title 名探偵コナン 100万ドルの五稜星, it is written "五稜星 / Goryosei" ( five-pointed star ) and is read as "みちしるべ / Michishirube" ( signpost ). The site also posted a teaser visual for the film newly drawn by the Detective Conan manga's original author, Gosho Aoyama. The tagline reads: "You must be good at this kind of solving mysteries / this kind of tactics...?" According to the website, the story takes place in Hakodate, Hokkaido. In the teaser visual, Heiji and Kazuha are staring at each other with blushing cheeks. Above them is Heiji's mortal rival, Kid the Phantom Thief, who has a history with Conan, smiling fearlessly. The site also suggests that Goryokaku, a famous landmark in Hokkaido depicted in the background of the visual, is related to the "Goryosei" in the title. Chika Nagaoka, who worked on the 23rd film, The Fist of Blue Sapphire (2019), and the 24th film, The Scarlet Bullet (2021), again serves as director on a screenplay by Takahiro Okura, who worked on the 21st film, The Crimson Love Letter (2017), The Fist of Blue Sapphire , and the 25th film The Bride of Halloween (2022). The previous 26th film Detective Conan: Black Iron Submarine released in Japan on April 24, 2023, earning 13.83 billion yen (93.9 million USD) to become the top-grossing film in the Detective Conan anime franchise's history.
