Anohana: The Flower We Saw That Day Revamps Stage Play Adaptation for 2023 Show

A blast from the past is getting a new cast! The stage play adaptation of Anohana: The Flower We Saw That Day, which originally opened in February 2022, announced today that a revamp with a new director and ensemble is currently in the works.

 

Scriptwriter Masafumi Hata is taking over the director role from Masanari Ujikawa for performances at Tokyo's Hakuhinkan Theater from August 9-15, which will "give the script new life". Meiko "Menma" Honma actress Miori Ichikawa will also be making a return, alongside these fresh faces:

 

  • Jinta "Jintan" Yadomi played by Takuya Kawaharada
  • Naruko "Anaru" Anjo played by Nashiko Momotsuki
  • Atsumu "Yukiatsu" Matsuyuki played by Ikumi Isaka
  • Chiriko "Tsuruko" Tsurumi played by Yuri Komagata
  • Tetsudo "Poppo" Hisakawa played by Yuki Suga
  • Satoshi Honma played by Masato Ichinose
  • Irene Honma played by Ryo Saika
  • Manabu Honma played by Mitsu Murata
  • Touko Yadomi played by Chisa Yokoyama
  • Atsushi Yadomi played by LaSalle Ishii

Crunchyroll streams the original 2011 anime series from writer Mari Okada (The Anthem of the Heart) and director Tatsuyuki Nagai (Toradora!), describing it as such:
