GUIDE: How to Watch All of KONOSUBA in Order
Note: We missed Season 2 Episode 12 in the guide; it's been updated to include the episode.
Ahh, what a perfect spring day. The sun is shining. The giant frogs haven't swallowed anyone whole today. And the cabbages aren't attacking for a least a few more weeks. Welcome, friends, to the KONOSUBA -God's Blessing On This Wonderful World! watch order guide!
KONOSUBA -An Explosion on this Wonderful World! — a new spinoff of everyone's favorite comedy fantasy Isekai — has just begun and a third season of Konosuba is slated for release later this year. With two seasons, two OVAs and a movie under the series' belt, you may be wondering where to start and what order to start watching Kazuma and Aqua's antics in.
Well, look no further! This breakdown will let you catch up before barreling right on into this exciting new content.
Season 1
Axel Arc (Episodes 1-3)
Kazuma Sato is just a regular guy who gets killed by Truck-kun. Or at least, that's what he thought was going to happen. As it turned out, he died of fright when he saw an oncoming farming vehicle. But no matter. The goddess Aqua is on the job, reincarnating Kazuma into a fantasy world in shambles from the Demon King's relentless attacks on humanity. Kazuma gets to pick a cool weapon or ability before being sent off too, and he chooses to bring along the goddess herself.

This arc sees Kazuma and Aqua sign up to be adventurers in the starting town of Axel and try to get this whole adventuring thing down pat. Party members with strong abilities, if admittedly odd personalities, are found in Megumin and Darkness, and the crew goes on a series of adventures. There's the seasonal flying cabbage attack to handle, not to mention the giant frogs that plague the area. Oh, and Aqua would be pretty good at that whole water-purifying quest too, don't you think?
Beldia Arc (Episodes 4-6)
Things start coming to a head here. Megumin's daily explosion magic training seems to have caught the ire of a Dullahan, and a Demon General no less! No one's quite sure why the Dullahan is targeting such a boring little town like Axel until they realize the abandoned castle Megumin has been targeting with explosion magic may not actually have been all that empty.
Suddenly, Axel is under attack, and it's going to take more than just Kazuma's party to take Beldia out.
A Second Death Arc (Episode 7)
Now that the imminent threat of an end-game boss in a starter town has been dealt with, Kazuma goes back to what he's best at... dying and ending up before a goddess giving him sec— wait, third? — chance at life. Even better? Eris is waaaayy more goddess-like than Aqua.
Wiz Arc (Episode 8)
In this arc, Kazuma and company meet Wiz. This kind-hearted lich runs a shop selling magical items in Axel, the perfect place for an adventurer's party to find all sorts of useful objects.

Of course, Wiz is also a member of the Demon King's army, and their simple "exorcise this mansion of the evil spirits found within it" quest may or may not have something to do with everyone's favorite goddess.
The Destroyer Arc (Episodes 9-10)
This arc sees a giant mobile fortress rolling up to Axel, ready to wreak havoc on the little town. Wiz joins forces with Kazuma's party, who lead an attack against this strange, deadly opponent. There's never a dull moment, as Kazuma's bright idea to save the day unintentionally winds up destroying a noble's mansion, who is none too happy with this turn of events, to say the least.
Season 2
Judicial Injustice (Episode 11)
This arc deals with the aftermath of the Destroyer Arc. Namely, Kazuma's arrest for unintentionally destroying a noble's mansion. With Kazuma on trial for everything from destroying a noble's beautiful mansion to secretly being in league with the Demon King, what's going to happen to everyone's favorite adventuring party? Don't worry. Darkness is on the case, so everything will be fine... Right?
Megumin's Rival (Episode 12)
Megumin is the only member of the Crimson Demon Clan that Kazuma knows...until he stumbles into Yunyun. She too is a Crimson Demon, claiming to be none other than Megumin's rival! Feuds between magic users tend to end with pretty dire consequences, though. And with Megumin's explosion magic in the mix, things could turn deadly!
Keele's Dungeon Arc (Episode 13)
Kazuma is constantly out of cash, and in this arc, he's found a surefire way to make tons of it real quick. Keele's Dungeon may be nearby and is pretty well-known to the adventuring crowd.
After a new passage is found by accident, it's up to Kazuma and Aqua to do a little dungeon diving and clear it out the old-fashioned way.
Darkness' Arc (Episode 14)
Finally, we learn more about Darkness. Everyone's favorite tank gets an arc herself here. Arranged marriages, duels and secret plots abound in this arc. Darkness isn't exactly the sort of person you'd expect to find in frilly dresses and going to meetings for arranged marriages, and Darkness herself would be the first person to agree with you. Yet, that's exactly where she finds herself. But don't worry! Kazuma can get her out of it. Right? That's totally what you are planning on, right, Kazuma?
Vanir's Arc (Episode 15-17)
Strange things seem to be happening at Keele's Dungeon, despite Kazuma and Aqua having recently returned from its now definitely, totally explored depths. Tiny doll-like things are milling around outside the dungeon and it seems someone new has taken up residence within.

After being so soundly beaten, Vanir joins Wiz at her shop. His business senses are on point, and he's looking to make a deal. Kazuma finds himself partnering up with this ex-Demon Army commander in order to make and sell things from Kazuma's home world, like the kotatsu (a low table people sit around which has a heater and quilt underneath to keep you super snug) whose warm comfort he refuses to leave.
Break Time! — OVA 1
God's Blessings on this Wonderful Choker!
OK, so where do you watch the first OVA? Well, technically, these events happen after Kazuma deals with Vanir inside the dungeon but before Vanir begins working at Wiz's shop. Even more technically, this probably happens after Kazuma exits the dungeon victorious but before the awards ceremony at the end of Episode 15. If you don't want to stop an episode before the end, don't worry. I didn't either. Watching the first OVA right about here should do the trick!
In this OVA, Kazuma gets himself into yet another sticky situation. While at Wiz's shop, Kazuma tries on a chocker, not r realizing that trying on random magical items may not always be good for one's health. Now, Kazuma has four days to fulfill the wish he subconsciously made when first putting the choker on before it will strangle him to death. Antics abound as Kazuma and the crew try anything and everything to get the chocker off before Kazuma's untimely demise.
Season 2 — Continued!
Alcanretia Arc (Episodes 17-20)
Kazuma's faced with a huge decision. Accept a one-off payment from Vanir for selling intellectual rights to the goods from his homeworld or maintain a profit-sharing contract. There's only one thing to do. Go to the city of Arcanretia to heal Kazuma's previous injuries, do a little sightseeing and mull things over.
Aqua happens to be the patron goddess of Arcanretia's local religion. Except, no one believes her when she reveals herself to her followers. Instead, they believe Aqua to be a member of the Demon King's army and launch a literal witch hunt against the very goddess they claim to worship.
Break Time! — OVA 2
God's Blessings on these Wonderful Works of Art!
The second OVA sees Kazuma meet a novice adventurer named Ran who claims to be a fan of his. Wanting to look good in front of his new groupie, Kazuma immediately accepts a quest to get rid of a metal golem. That isn't the only golem they wind up facing, though, as Kazuma and his friends find themselves face-to-face with golem after golem in a strange mansion. But wait! Is that a handy diary left behind by someone else who was reincarnated into this world? Maybe the golems have an off switch. No? They're all imperfect? Oh well. Maybe next time things will go your way, Kazuma.
Movie — Legend of Crimson
The first theatrical release in the KONOSUBA series is an hour-and-a-half long journey to Megumin's hometown, the Crimson Magic Clan's village.
Yun-yun, a childhood friend of Megumin, shows up once more. This time, she's saying something about bearing Kazuma's children. Oh, and that the Crimson Demon Village may have been wiped out. This was all some sort of prank, right? Well, Megumin figures it's best to check in at home, just to be sure.
Megumin's parents seem nice, though their attempts at playing wingman to get Megumin and Kazuma together may not be working as planned. Orcs, goblins and trolls are all attacking the village, but the toughest opponent of all is Sylvia, a chimera who is one of the eight generals of the Demon King's army. The only thing that can take her out is a giant railgun powered by explosion magic.
Spin-Off — Konosuba -An Explosion on This Wonderful World!
This spinoff features Megumin, everyone's favorite explosion magic user. Here, we see a younger Megumin still in training and living in the Crimson Magic Clan's village. As she advances in her studies, Megumin decides that she's going to dedicate all of her studies and magic to the spell that's already saved her life once: Explosion!
Though this takes place before the start of KONOSUBA's first season, it's probably best viewed after you're already familiar with the characters, setting and worldbuilding as we get ready to go on an adventure with Megumin and the Crimson Magic Clan.
And that's all, at least for now, more adventures await Kazuma and the others. What'll happen next? What are your favorite KONOSUBA moments? And most importantly of all, who's eagerly awaiting the next episode of An Explosion on This Wonderful World!, like me? Let me know in the comments below!
