Naruto Celebrates 20 Years With Three New Anime Visuals [UPDATED]

October 3 marks 20 years since the first Naruto TV anime episode premiered on Japanese TV, starting the long-running franchise that continues to this day in BORUTO: NARUTO NEXT GENERATIONS. To celebrate the occasion, the anime team has released three new visuals that encompass Naruto's life and his struggles in coming to terms with himself and his friends.

Naruto manga creator Masashi Kishimoto also released a special illustration that shows off all the different stages of his life we've seen of the orange ninja.

Naruto's official website also opened today creating a hub for the franchise that will contain official news on the series as well as exclusive images from the creators. The website is available in six different languages including Japanese, English, French, Italian, German and Spanish.

Masashi Kishimoto's Naruto manga ran in the pages of Weekly Shonen Jump from September 21, 1999, to November 10, 2014, inspiring two anime series, both of which are streaming right here on Crunchyroll. The sequel series, BORUTO: NARUTO NEXT GENERATIONS follows Naruto's son and was launched in Weekly Shonen Jump on May 9, 2016, by illustrator Mikio Ikemoto and writer Ukyo Kodachi with Kishimoto taking back writing duties in November 2020.

 

BORUTO: NARUTO NEXT GENERATIONS has also inspired its own TV anime series, which streams weekly here on Crunchyroll and is described as such:
