Japan Box Office: One Piece Film Red Continues to Dominate The Ranking for 6 Consecutive Weekends

Not even an army of delinquent students could stop the pirates' momentum. One Piece Film Red earned 494 million yen (3.47 million USD) on 355,000 admissions in its sixth weekend and has stayed on No.1 for six consecutive weekends, beating newcomer HiGH&LOW THE WORST X in second.

The cumulative total domestic gross of One Piece Film Red has reached an impressive 13.87 billion yen (97.2 million USD) on 9.94 million admissions. It has already surpassed the total box office gross of JUJUTSU KAISEN 0 (13.75 billion yen) to become the ninth top-grossing Japanese film of all-time, behind Makoto Shinkai's 2019 film Weathering With You (14.19 billion yen).

HiGH&LOW THE WORST X, the latest seventh installment of the battle action franchise HiGH&LOW, released in 341 theaters across Japan on September 9, then earned 150 million yen (1.05 million USD) on 107,000 admissions on its first Saturday and Sunday to make its second place debut. Following the previous installment HiGH&LOW THE WORST in 2019, it is a crossover film with Hiroshi Takahashi's school thug manga series Crows and Worst.

Uta no Prince-sama The Movie: Maji LOVE ST☆RISH TOURS, the second concert film from the Uta no Prince-sama anime franchise following the first film Uta no Prince-sama The Movie: Maji LOVE Kingdom in 2019, ranked fourth in its second weekend, which was even three positions up from its debut weekend's seventh. The enthusiastic word-of-mouth response seems to be pushing the film's ranking all the way up.

Kingdom 2 Harukanaru Daichi e (To the Land of Faraway), the second live-action film adaptation of Yasuhisa Hara's historical adventure manga, ranked tenths in its ninth weekend, bringing its total to 4.93 billion yen (34.56 million USD).

The anime film adaptation of Mei Hachimoku's The Tunnel to Summer, the Exit of Goodbyes sci-fi novel was released in Japan on September 9 and didn't make its top 10 debut. It ranked fourth in Filmarks' first day satisfaction ranking with an average rating of 3.72/5.0 based on 285 reviews.
