Wotakoi Hirotaka VA Kento Ito Makes His Solo Singer Debut in September

Following the mysterious countdown on Twitter, voice actor Kento Ito, best known as Hirotaka Nifuji in Wotakoi: Love Is Hard for Otaku and Michio Hazama in THE IDOLM@STER Side M, announced today that he will make his solo singer debut from A-Sketch's Astro Voice label. His debut digital single "Mayonaka no Love" (Love in Midnight), written/composed by Enon Kawatani (Gesu no Kiwami Otome), is set to be released on September 21.

Ito, who is now 33, started his career as an anime voice actress in 2011, and he and fellow voice actor Yoshiki Nakajima formed UMake, a music unit born out of a radio show they were on, in 2017. He has many sung character songs for various anime/game franchises and released a J-pop cover song album "COVER~YOUTH~" in December 2021, but this will be the first time he has released an original song under his own name.

"This year marks 10 years since I started my voice acting career. Now that a considerable amount of time has passed, I decided to make my debut as I wanted to create a home for myself," he said. "I am excited to see what I will be able to send from this place, and I want to keep trying to do trial and error to find out what I can do because I am Kento Ito."
