Kingdom 2 Theatergoers to Receive Bonus Booklet Including Rough Drafts by Manga Author

 

 

In commemoration of the smash hit of the Kingdom 2 Harukanaru Daichi e live-action film in Japan, starting August 11, the 80-page bonus booklet "Kingdom Go-kan" will be given to a total of one million theatergoers nationwide.

 

Three years after the first film in 2019, the second live-action film adaptation of Yasuhisa Hara's historical adventure manga Kingdom was released in 373 theaters across Japan on July 15, then stayed on No.1 for two consecutive weeks. Its cumulative total box office gross has reached 3.1 billion yen (23 million USD) on 2.16 million admissions in 19 days since its release to become the second highest grossing Japanese live-action film of 2022, behind only Shin Ultraman (4.37 billion yen).

The bonus booklet includes 48-page rough drafts of the film's original story part newly drawn by the manga author hara himself, which will be shown for the first time. In addition, you can also read a long interview with Hara, and interviews with Kento Yamazaki (Xin), Nana Seino (Qiang Lei), Amane Okayama (Wei Ping), Takahiro Miura (Wei Dao), and Takayuki Hamatsu (Taku Kei), as well as a conversation between Hara and director Shinsuke Sato.
