Soccer Manga BLUELOCK Reaches A Milestone of 10 Million Copies in Print

 

 

July 15, on the release day of its latest 20th volume in Japan, the official Twitter account for Muneyuki Kaneshiro (story) and Yusuke Nomura'S (art) soccer-themed sports manga BLUELOCK announced that it had finally reached a milestone of 10 million copies in print.

 

The account writes, "Due to the strong sales of the latest 20 volumes released today, all volumes 1st through 20th have been decided to be reprinted. With this reprint, the total number of copies printed has surpassed 10 million!! It all thanks to your support. Thank you very much! We will work harder and harder egotistically to reach our goal of 100 million copies!!"

 

 

 


 

 

The manga has been serialized in Kodansha's Weekly Shonen Magazine since August 2018 and its first tankobon volume was released in November 2018. Its TV anime adaptation project was announced in August 2021.

 

Crunchyroll announced at its Anime Boston industry panel in May 2022 that it will simulcast the TV anime adaptation in October 2022 for its members in North America, Central America, South America, Europe, Africa, Oceania, the Middle East and CIS.

 

 

Synopsis:

 

After a disastrous defeat at the 2018 World Cup, Japan's team struggles to regroup. But what's missing? An absolute Ace Striker, who can guide them to the win. The Japan Football Union is hell-bent on creating a striker who hungers for goals and thirsts for victory, and who can be the decisive instrument in turning around a losing match...and to do so, they've gathered 300 of Japan's best and brightest youth players.
