Square Enix locked in an official Japanese release date for Fullmetal Alchemist Mobile during a pre-launch stream that went live earlier today. Fans of Hiromu Arakawa's series can look forward to reliving its story when the game hits iOS and Android devices in Japan on August 4.

Featuring a fully-voiced story with a mix of 3DCG event scenes and alchemy battles, Fullmetal Alchemist Mobile will be a free-to-play game with optional in-app purchases.

Disregard for alchemy’s laws ripped half of Ed Elric’s limbs from his body and left Al’s soul clinging to a suit of armor. To restore what was lost, the brothers seek the Philosopher’s Stone. Enemies and allies – the corrupt military, the Homunculi, and foreign alchemists – will alter the Elric’s course, but their purpose will remain unchanged and their bond unbreakable.
