EPISODE 19 OF TOKYO REVENGERS ANIME REVIEW.

So, Let's begin without wasting any time, strap your seat belts cause' this is one hell of a ride even for you and toman, We finally get to see this Bloody Halloween. This episode was pure chaos with some sprinkle of backstories, flashbacks, and just havoc and violence. We see teens beating the shit outta each other. The Valhalla vs Tokyo Manji Toman. Well, there weren't any notable fight scenes though.

Tokyo Revengers Season 1 Episode 19 Full Review.🀩So, Let's begin without wasting any time, strap your seat belts cause' this is one hell of a ride even for you and toman.

I am willing to gamble my soul that soon Kisaki will make a move. A terrifying move.πŸ˜ΆπŸ‘Œ

Unfortunately enough, the actual presentation and execution of that violence don't mark much impact on the character development of the main character but it does have an effect on the main cast.πŸ™‚πŸ‘

Tokyo Revengers anime has never teased this much good animation and visuals up until now, but it managed to pull through well enough with a few solid fight scenes and strong emotional narratives to back up its most important confrontations. Sadly, that's not really an option here; so much of this episode is spent panning over still images, with impact action effects or shaky cam which tricks us into believing they're moving. It's not enough to ruin this episode on its own, I mean who would notice such minor details, but it sure sucks a lot of the energy out of the fights we see. A huge brawl with 400+ fighters would be a tall ask from even the healthiest of TV anime productions, and that's definitely not this show.

We fckin' don't even see a proper brawl of 50 people.πŸ˜“

There are some strong and epic moments in here.

Although being a complete noob, Takemichi's Shonen Protagonist energy carries him through several beatings and turns him into an unexpected inspiration to the rest of Toman's foot soldiers. It's a sweet moment that's only slightly undercut by our hero waddling his way through enemies like a toddler trying to create an impenetrable wall of swinging punches. That shit was real funny, am not being sarcastic here.

Tokyo Revengers anime is fully dedicated it's a screen to flesh out the main cast (not Takemichi of course) and I respect that so much. Nowadays many shounen just focus o the main character but leave the cast in shambles.  I really love how Takemichi hasn't got any character development but he still manages to pull through the fleshed-out Toman.πŸ€©πŸ‘Œ

Do you know who does get to look cool though? Draken and Mikey. Once Takemichi ignites a fire of inspiration under the rest of Toman's members, the second-in-command, Ken is freed up from being held back protecting his subordinates, and we get several minutes of both show and characters showing us just how god damn cool Draken is. He breaks some bones and stomps countless Valhalla punks into the dust before punching Hanma halfway across the junkyard with a single strike. It's ridiculous, and while it does strain the credulity of these characters actually being human, it's still very, very effective.

I really appreciate the overall character writing in this anime, That Draken moment was really awesome and it reminded me of the obsolete powerhouse of Vinland Saga- Thorkell.⚡

Well, we do get a bit of character-building amid all these fights and havoc, and I'm not entirely sure what to make of it.

Kazutora continues to be my biggest rollercoaster with this arc's writing, as the bizarre thought processes that brought him to become Mikey's enemy still doesn't go down my gut.

Oh lord is Kazutora so dumb?🀣

We do at least learn more about why he thinks in such strange and ridiculous dichotomies: growing up with an abusive father and a mother who instilled in him that he was forced to pick one of the two i.e Mom or Dad. 😭

With that context, and his speech about becoming a “hero” by killing his enemy, I at least have a better idea of his character, but as a villain for this arc he still feels undercooked and underwhelmed, and I am really waiting for Baji or Kisaki to throw their ass in the ring next episode.

Mikey at least looks cool as ever here, getting the best-looking fight of the episode as he takes on two of Kazutora's underlings while barely breaking a sweat.

Then once the fight turns dirty and they pin him down through 3 on 1, he gets to show off his vibranium skull, because that's the only explanation for how he's still conscious after Kazutora goes full Barry Bonds on his head with that iron rod.

Bullcrap I call.

Then again this little punk kicked two punks across the face with one foot from a stock-still standing position, so it's absolutely possible he's actually a cyborg designed to be the ultimate delinquent at this point.

Bullshit it is. πŸ˜“

I am eagerly waiting to see what kind of asspull the writer pulls next. (I haven't read the manga yet).\

I really have mixed feelings for this episode. That dangerous powerhouse little punk just dumbstruck me for a while.

Alright then, please do tell me in the comments about how you feel about this episode or the anime in general.
